2008 NBC Universal Development Incubator

The NBC Universal Development Incubator is an initiative designed to develop market-driven feature films and support the next generation of Canadian feature film professionals. This initiative will provide five emerging and intermediate producer and writer teams, with feature length dramatic projects in development, with an opportunity to work with consultants and select industry advisors in a series of small group sessions to advance their projects through one draft of their script and to prepare preliminary marketing packages. The Development Incubator will run from March 26- 28, 2008.

Successful Candidates Receive the Following:
•The NBC Universal Development Incubator which includes:
• An overview session on Elements of Story,
• A U.K. Development Executive will provide an overview of development and financing for feature films in the U.K. through case study and script analysis,
• Industry case studies on development, co-productions and financing,
• A session on how to package their project and create pre-sales marketing materials,
• Producers will have opportunities to learn from established professionals through case studies on Canadian and U.K. co-productions.
• Producer and writer teams will have their writer matched up with U.K or national story editors to polish high potential Canadian scripts.
• Complimentary attendance to program workshops including: Women Writers Workshop, and three-part course on Feature Film Writing.
