Quebecor Bursary Program

Presented by Women in Film and Television-Toronto
in association with Quebecor Fund

 

This provincial program is designed to assist underrepresented women and/or men in the film and television industry gain access to professional skills development and networking opportunities. With this program, we hope to open doors and ultimately create a more vibrant cultural landscape in the sector.

The Quebecor Bursary program will provide 50 visible minorities and/or Aboriginals with a WIFT-T Associate or Friend Membership at no cost to the applicant.

GUIDELINES:

Successful applicants will receive the following:

A one-year WIFT-T Associate or Friend Membership at no cost to the applicant. Membership includes access to the following opportunities:

• Business Skills Training
• Networking Events
• Mentorship Programs and Awards
• Industry Awards
• Technical Skills Training
• Executive Management Training
• Full members have voting privileges
• Full members can be on the board

Value - $185.50 (including GST)

ELIGIBILITY:

• The applicants must have less than three years working experience in advertising, journalism, film, television or new media production
• Applicants must be visible minority or Aboriginal Ontario-based media professionals
• Applicants must not have been a WIFT-T or WIFT Chapter member in the past
• Media professionals who have recently come to Canada and have at least three years work experience in their own country are eligible.

Applications must include:

• Current occupation
• Details of your prior training
• A two-page curriculum vitae
• Two letters of support
• A one-page letter outlining why this opportunity is important to your career development

Application Process
For an application form, click here. Fully completed application packages must be submitted to WIFT-T. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis until all 50 bursaries have been filled. WIFT-T reserves the right to post the successful applicants names and bios on the WIFT-T website.
