WIFT-T Announces The Producers Internship
and Call
for Applications
Women in Film and Television - Toronto (WIFT-T) is pleased to announce The Producers Internship and Call for Applications, presented by Deluxe in partnership with Tattersall Sound and Picture and PS Production Services.
The Producers Internship will provide one Canadian producer with coveted hands-on experience and training by giving the producer the opportunity to join three outstanding companies: Deluxe, Tattersall Sound and Picture, and PS Production Services as an intern to learn about production equipment planning and requirements and post production video, film and sound. The successful applicant will spend one week with each partner for a total of three weeks. The internship will take place November 20 to December 8, 2006.
To complement the work experience, the intern will have access to WIFT-T programming, valued at $1,200, for one full year commencing with the internship.
PS Production Services: November 20 - 24, 2006.
PS Production Services Ltd. is a leading supplier of state-of-the-art motion picture and television production equipment, celebrating over 30 years of exceptional service to productions shooting in Canada. Our comprehensive inventory includes: 35mm and 16mm cameras, complete lighting and grip departments, together with an extensive fleet of generators and package trucks. PS Specializes in 'round-the-clock Personal Customer Service, to meet all production equipment needs. Established in 1972, PS operates in Vancouver, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax.
At PS Production Services the intern will spend time learning camera, lighting and grip, generators and sales.
Deluxe: November 27 - December 1, 2006.
Deluxe offers a wide range of entertainment industry services and technologies to an international client base. The company operates facilities in Hollywood, Toronto, London, Rome, and Barcelona and also provides services to a number of Asian markets via its partnerships with AtLab Australia and Kantana Group Thailand. Deluxe has developed market leading postproduction services via its EFILM brand in both Hollywood and Toronto and also offers feature film and television re-recording services. Deluxe Digital Studios is the largest supplier of Compression, Authoring and Encoding services to the DVD industry; and Deluxe Media Management offers deliverable solutions to assist customers with format deliveries and asset management solutions.
While at Deluxe the intern will spend one week learning about sound and picture post-production and will spend time in every department.
Tattersall Sound and Picture: December 4 - 8, 2006.
Tattersall Sound and Picture is an independently owned picture editing, sound design, and mixing facility for film and television. We provide film-makers with picture edit suites, sound design/dialogue editing services, and mixing services. Our commitment to excellence, our creative and inspired attention to detail, and our innovative use of technology have guided us through 20 years award-winning films.
The internship will consist of an introduction, one day with a dialogue editor, one day with a sound effects editor, one day with the assistant editors, one day in mixing, and then the final 1/2 day in the area they have the most interest in.
GUIDELINES
The award winner will receive the following:
• One-week internship at Deluxe
• One-week internship at Tattersall Sound and Picture
• One-week internship at PS Production Services
• A $1,000 honorarium
• A WIFT-T programming pass valued at $1,200
Eligibility:
• Must be a WIFT-T member
• Applicants should be interested in film and television post production and equipment planning and requirements
• Must be emerging Canadian producer with at least two years experience in the industry and not more than five years experience.
• Upon completion of the program, the award winner will provide a final report of the internship which WIFT-T will present to the partners.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant or permanent resident

• Detailed outline of your objectives for participating in this program and why this opportunity is important to your career as a filmmaker
• Five (5) copies of all of the above information (unbound, no staples).
• Faxed and emailed applications will not be accepted

PLEASE NOTE: A $25 + GST administration fee, paid by credit card or cheque, will be required to process your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
