4) Will my WIFT-T membership be honoured at other WIFT chapters?

As a member of WIFT-T, you are automatically a member of WIFT International; however, each regional chapter is run independently. Some chapters will allow you to participate in their activities, but it is best to contact the chapter directly.

Also, WIFT-T has Dual membership agreements with NYWIFT and WIFLA. Any Full member in good standing with WIFT-T may join either of these chapters for just $75 USD. For more details, please contact Wendy Jacinto, at 416.322.3430 x225 or membership@wift.com.

8) Does WIFT-T have a mentoring program or assist members with career development?

WIFT-T does not offer a mentoring program; however, if you are interested in mentorship, there is a great guide at www.workinculture.on.ca.

WIFT-T does, however, recognize the importance of career development for our members. In keeping with this philosophy, WIFT-T has initiated a number of programs focused on career development, including the career building approach to the Goodmans Presents.

In addition, WIFT-T encourages its members to connect with industry peers at the networking events held throughout the year.

9) How does the WIFT-T Volunteer Program work?

Because the Volunteer Program offers opportunities for networking and earning discounts toward WIFT-T courses, volunteering is considered a benefit of membership, and therefore, is open to members only.

Volunteer opportunities are sent out by email as they arise. Members assist us in many areas throughout the year – special events production, professional development workshops, office assistance, and representing WIFT-T at trade shows. If you are a member in good standing and wish to be added to the volunteer list, please contact us at 416-322-3430 x221 or wift@wift.com.

All volunteers are encouraged to take advantage of WIFT-T’s Volunteer Incentive Program. For every ten hours worked, a member receives ten percent off one of the many courses offered by WIFT-T. This is a way for our organization to offer something back to our hard working volunteers and also a way for members to attend courses at reduced rates.

To redeem volunteer hours, call 416.322.3430 x221.
