NEW! Business Management for Media Professionals
In Partnership with Schulich Executive Education Centre, Schulich School of Business and Humber School of Media Studies and Information Technology

WIFT-T is excited to present a new opportunity for both senior and emerging media professionals. Developed in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, this business learning initiative is a comprehensive standardized business training certificate program for working film and television professionals.

WIFT-T Presents: Business Management for Media Professionals

The Business Management for Media Professionals training program will be offered through the Centre for Media Professionals (CMP), WIFT-T's training division for women and men.

At the senior level, WIFT-T and Schulich will work together to develop a program of courses in business targeted to managers, professionals and entrepreneurs in the film and television industries. This program is scheduled to launch in Spring 2008.

At the emerging level, WIFT-T, in collaboration with Humber College, will target newer entrants to the industry as well as newcomers to Canada with film experience. This program is scheduled to launch in Fall 2007.

Schulich is internationally renowned for its expertise in business and leadership training. A leader in polytechnic education, Humber offers innovative, career-focused learning opportunities. Schulich and Humber will bring their individual expertise in training to the development of the overall program and course content and will, with WIFT-T, select instructors that combine the best of academic and industry experience.

The programs will be administered and delivered by the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) at the Schulich School of Business, York University, and Humber School of Media Studies and Information Technology.

The impetus behind this training initiative comes from the needs expressed by the industry and compiled in WIFT-T's 2004 groundbreaking study Frame Work: Employment in Canadian Screen-Based Media - A National Profile.
