Justin Trefgarne
Development Executive, UK
Justin was a Development Executive at Working Title from 2002 until January 2006. He attended Haileybury College on an Art Scholarship before taking a 2.1 in Art History at Bristol University. Following this he studied acting at LAMDA; on graduating he founded Odyssey, a theatre company. Their first production, BLOOD AND ICE, was The Times’ Critics Choice in January 1997. This led to him working as an Assistant Director in the commercial theatre, including a season at the Open Air Theatre, Regents Park. But it was a brief stint as a runner on Neil Jordan’s THE END OF THE AFFAIR that confirmed his spiritual home was in the movies. After working as a freelance script reader he was hired as an assistant to writer-director Oliver Parker (AN IDEAL HUSBAND), and shortly afterwards took a development job at Fragile Films. In 2002 he joined Working Title. There he was involved in a number of projects including the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, THE INTERPRETER, MR BEAN’S HOLIDAY, Edgar Wright’s HOT FUZZ and the adaptation of Ian McEwan’s ATONEMENT.
