Elizabeth Klinck

Elizabeth Klinck has worked as producer, researcher and clearance specialist on hundreds of award-winning Canadian, American and British documentary films that have garnered Academy, Emmy, Peabody and Gemini awards. In 2004, she taught documentary research and development at Ryerson University and has led research and film and music rights clearance workshops at Hot Docs, the National Film Board of Canada, CTV, Discovery, History Television, the Reel World Film Festival, the World Congress of History Producers (Paris, Toronto and Rome), and at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Klinck is a member of the Board of Directors for the World Congress of History Producers, FOCAL (Federation of Commercial Audiovisual Libraries International) and the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival. She is a founding member of the Visual Researchers Society of Canada, a member of DOC and WIFT-Toronto. She was nominated for a Gemini award in 2002 and FOCAL’s Visual Researcher of the Year in 2005. In 2006 she was nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft – Research. Klinck is a graduate of Queen’s University.

Rights management expert Elizabeth Klinck will provide guidance to producers dealing with rights management, song publishing rights, and master rights when acquiring and contracting music for their production. After a short break, a panel moderated by Elizabeth Klinck will discuss how to hire, locate and license music, composers and stock music. The panel will include a lawyer and representatives from the Canadian Independent Record Production Association (CIRPA) including a music supervisor, producer and publisher.
