Don Gaudet is currently General Manager, Programming for SUN TV in Toronto. He is responsible for acquiring and commissioning all programming for the station, and works closely with other Quebecor companies: SUN Media, Canoe.ca, 24 Hours, and TVA to help develop a converged media company. With over 20 years in the television industry, most of that time in Programming, Don owes his accomplishments to several great mentors, and hopes he has been able to be a mentor to others as well. After programming the WIC Alberta stations through most of the ‘90s, Don moved to Toronto in 2001 to help launch six specialty channels for CanWest Global. In 2005, the opportunity to help re-invent Toronto 1, now SUN TV drew on his entrepreneurial side, and he has helped build a new station that is dedicated to local productions, innovative programming, and keeping the station “Fun to Watch.” Don’s volunteer work has included teaching Adult Ed classes in Personal Development, Time Management, and Public Speaking, and several years with Junior Chamber of Commerce in various positions, including President of the Calgary Jaycees in 1992.
