Bonita Siegel

Bonita Siegel is the Director of Original Productions at Corus Kids where she develops and supervises production of original programs for YTV, Treehouse TV, and Discovery Kids Canada which comprise Corus Kids television. Working in partnership with producers across Canada and internationally, Ms Siegel and her Production Executives oversee the creative aspects of a varied production slate aimed at children aged 2-18 and their families. Bonita works with Canadian production companies to develop properties that succeed on the Corus channels, sell successfully in the world market and/or attract international partners for coproduction opportunities. This proactive stance of finding the 'right' partners and having a clearly defined creative vision of the Original Productions for Corus Entertainment has resulted in Canadian programs with YTV development, i.e. Captain Flamingo, Toopy and Binoo, Zixx; Being Ian, and Monster Warriors gaining world market success. The Original Productions team has coproduced with many countries including the U.K., France and Australia i.e. Martin Mystery; Team Galaxy; and Erky Perky. The programs developed and produced in association with the YTV Original Productions group have resulted in numerous awards including Geminis, an International Emmy, Shaw Rocket Prize, Leos, ACT Awards and two Pulcinella Awards.
