RBL owns and operates 51 radio stations, the Citytv and OMNI television networks, four specialty television channels (Sportsnet, Outdoor Life, Biography and G4 Tech TV), Canada’s national televised shopping service, The Shopping Channel, and 20/20 Direct, a direct marketing sales agency. Executive Vice-President and General Manager of The Shopping Channel from 1995 to 2001. Previously Vice-President of Finance for Rogers Broadcasting Limited from 1988-1994 and Controller of Pepsi-Cola Canada from 1986 – 1988. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and articled with Deloitte & Touche as an auditor from 1980 – 1982 and as a Taxation Specialist from 1982 – 1986. Graduated B.Comm from the University of Cape Town in 1979, Chartered Accountant (Ontario) in 1982 and M.B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1985. MBA Major in Policy and Marketing. Completed the CICA/Bar Association In-depth Taxation Specialization course in 1986. Chairman of the Television Board of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters and a member of the Board of the Canadian Club. President of Digital Radio Rollout Inc. (DRRI), the body responsible for the implementation of digital radio in Canada. Past Chairman of the Radio Board of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Past Chairman of the Board and Honorary Life Member of the Canadian Marketing Association. Achievements include an American Field Service Scholarship to complete high school in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1976. Married to Karen, son Justin is 17 years old. |
