Laszlo Barna is the driving force behind Barna-Alper Productions. He initiates the strategic direction of the company by combining creative vision and keen business acumen. As Executive Producer on all projects, his sense of social commentary and commitment to excellence have made each project bearing the Barna-Alper name both outstanding and unique.

Co-founded with his partner, Laura Alper in 1980, Barna-Alper has produced hundreds of hours of internationally acclaimed and award-winning dramatic series, documentary series, and movies for television. Celebrated titles such as: Milgaard, Diana Kilmury: Teamster, Turning Points of History, The Last Just Man, Offspring and The Take are just a few examples of programs which have earned the company over 40 Gemini Awards.

An ardent leader and advocate in the Canadian television production industry, Laszlo is former Chair of the Canadian Film and Television Producers Association, and a past board member of the Canadian Television Fund.
